Cuc Phuong national park was an archaeological place with prehistoric relics about 12.000 years ago. It was found out: graves, stone axes, stone arrows,… etc. In the caverns here it was evidence that prehistoric men lived in this area from 7.000 to 12.000 years ago. In 1960, Cuc Phuong national park was recognized to be a forest reserve and founded by Decision 72/TTG, July 7th 1962 with 20000 hectares of the total area which marked to give birth to the first reserve in Viet Nam. However, nowadays it is determined again with 22.200 hectares of the total area. Cuc Phuong belongs to all 3 provinces, including: 11.350 hectares of Ninh Binh province, 5.850 hectares of Thanh Hoa province and 5.000 hectares of Hoa Binh province. Cuc Phuong is in the Southeast of Tam Diep range of mountain, a limestone mountain chain from Son La province in the northwest. The speciality of this limestone mountain chain is created in the bottom of the sea about 200 million years ago. This emerged with highly 636 metres and became an attractive terrain in the centre of the plain. What is more, Cuc Phuong forest also has one of the most important role is protect riverhead of the water reservoir Yen Quang which provides water for life and agriculture of local people. Here has 2 big rivers: Buoi river and Ma river, both of them play an important role in the life of Cuc Phuong’s human, fauna and flora. About Flora, Cuc Phuong national park was also determined was one of the 7 diversified plant centres in Viet Nam. It has about 22.000 hectares area, in there has ¾ of high limestone mountains from 300 to 600 metres compared with sea surface. Especially, it is peak May Bac highly 648,2 metres. The climate of
