Vietnamese Ancient Village – Co Vien Lau is located next to the tourist wharf Tam Co Bich Dong, Ninh Binh Province with an area of 22,000m2. The village is contiguous to the Thai Vi Temple in the east, which is the Tran Dynasty worship, to the Ngo Dong river in the west, to the Tam Coc wharf in the south and to the Cua Quen mountain in the north.
This is a village that retains the ancient features of ancient Vietnamese houses between the majestic mountains and charming rivers, a typical northern village. The house is roofed with fish fins tiles.
There is also a very special house, originally restored from the idea of Dau’s house with three main rooms and two chambers, leaves roof , clay floor, the main material of the house is soil and combined with bamboo, straw. The house has one main door and two bamboo windows, three main compartments have a bamboo bed, in the yard, is a high straw, water jars, a millstone and a garden.
Especially, in this village, there are communal houses. This is the Thanh Liem ancient house was collected in Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province with the area of more than 100m2 with the curved roof covered with fish fin shape tiles over the surface of the tile shape “Tho”. In the family there are 28 ironwood columns of 75-85cm in diameter covered with green rocks against low humidity and termites.
Not only the temple, ancient houses, visitors here also see the familiar items such as tea cabinets, corridor, pedestal …of hundreds of years old, with carved lively motifs and sophisticated art.
